Get Involved in Voter Registration

Our democracy is based on citizens voting for their elected officials. Nothing is more important than free people voting for their leaders, voting their conscious. Perhaps the most important thing you can do as an activist is expand the voting base. Democrats lag far behind Republicans in registered voters, but you can help change that. The Florida GOP has made registering voters complicated; we know how to navigate their maze and we offer excellent training.
Our Campaign Committee sends people out in pairs or threes to knock on doors of known Democrats (we always have a list). We ask voters to sign up for Vote-By-Mail because 95% of voters who receive a mail-in ballot actually vote, compared to about 50% of those without that ballot.
When we knock on the doors of fellow Democrats, they welcome us, we show them they are not alone. Often there are unregistered citizens in their house or a neighbor’s house. We can sign them up to vote on the spot!
We can reach our voters by phone as well. Phone-banking in the digital age involves your phone and your computer. Volunteers access a list of Democrats with their phone numbers on their computer and fill out the results of the phone call right there. You can do this at home or join a scheduled phone-banking event. Many people prefer phone calling to knocking on doors. Plus, making phone calls is accessible to those with mobility issues.
Sometimes we attend events where we expect to find Democrats, bringing our clipboards and phones to register them to vote or to vote by mail. Florida has an on-line Voter Registration System accessible anywhere, any time.

BlueVoterGuide.org - A Wonderful Website for Learning About Democrats Nationwide
It full of researched information for Democrats in the whole country, but when you sign in, it's your state, your county, and your district info that is shown. You can even see each candidate's endorsers and research them, too. It's run by volunteers!
Of course, the ballot is just beginning to be built, so there's not a lot there yet, but you save it and it is only your information and it will automatically update when the site has more information. This is so cool, so needed!
I urge you all to go https://bluevoterguide.org and build your Guide now!
Democratic Women's Club of Florida

The Democratic Women's Club of Florida was formed to provide a forum for discussion of public matters, to support qualified candidates for public office and to encourage Democratic women to seek elected office.
Members and guests are trained in leadership and campaign skills through a variety of curricula offerings, recruiting women to run for political office, both elective and appointed, and managing campaigns. The Legislative Committee serves as the hub of activities during the Legislative Session as members monitor and lobby for or against legislation that has a dramatic impact on the lives of the citizens, and particularly the women of Florida.
